Woodstock was a 3 day festival that took place in 1969 on a 600 acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York. The festival hosted 32 musical performances to about 400,000 young people. The Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Joe Cocker, and Jimi Hendrix were just a few of the talented musicians that made history at Woodstock. This massive gathering promoted peace and social harmony in spite of overcrowding and limited resources.
So came the vividly-stoned and shoeless who ran roughshod with brave opposition and the barriers placed became viewless.
Day one headlined for the folk musician. Up first there played Havens strumming his tune. The crowd swayed in hypnotic submission.
Nude and delighted they danced for the moon, and spun for the rain that fell from the sky, unaware of storm’s torrent coming soon. –
